GRADES K-3 TECHNOLOGY GOALS    
COMMUNICATIONS INFORMATION PROCESSING PRODUCTIVITY
Students will use technology to communicate effectively and creatively Students will use technology to access, retrieve, interpret and evaluate visual and auditory information. Students will use technology to maximize productivity and effectiveness.
Students will communicate through application software. Students will access and retrieve electronic information. Students will use technology to enhance their understanding of basic skills.
Create a document at the keyboard using word processing skills and the writing process steps. Use search strategies to locate electronic information. Use electronic encyclopedias, almanacs, indexes and catalogs.
Communicate with spreadsheets: entering data and setting up formulas. Use electronic encyclopedias, almanacs, indexes and catalogs. Develop strategies for problem solving, critical and creative thinking.
Use audio equipment. Students will use information resources to support learning in all content areas. Students will develop basic technology skills.
    Develop basic keyboarding skills.
    Use basic technology vocabulary and knowledge.
     
GRADES 4-5 TECHNOLOGY GOALS    
COMMUNICATIONS INFORMATION PROCESSING PRODUCTIVITY
Students will use technology to communicate effectively and creatively Students will use technology to access, retrieve, evaluate and interpret visual/auditory information Students will use technology and its applications to maximize productivity and effectiveness.
Students will communicate through application software. Students will access and retrieve electronic information from a variety of sources, including: electronic encyclopedias, almanacs, indexes and catalogs. If appropriate, use software for computer assisted instruction.
Create written documents using word processing skills, writing process steps, and publishing programs. Utilize electronic devices, including: calculators, remote controls, and digital video players. Develop strategies for problem solving and critical thinking.
Utilze electronic spell checker/thesaurus, and computer graphic programs. Use cable and modem delivered services. Students will develop basic technology skills.
Create databases and spreadsheets to manage information and create reports. Students will use information to support learning in all content areas. Select and use technology appropriate to needs.
Produce layouts using publishing software and scanners.   Develop keyboarding skills.
Integrate databases, graphics and spreadsheets into word processed documents.   Operate peripheral devices.
Students will communicate visually, graphically, and artistically through multi-media.   Use an expanded technology vocabulary.
Students will communicate through networks and telecommunication.   Care for technology equipment and use it safely.
Use electronic spell checkers, thesauruses and grammar checkers.   Follow copyright laws.
     
GRADES 6-8 TECHNOLOGY GOALS    
COMMUNICATIONS INFORMATION PROCESSING PRODUCTIVITY
Students will use technology to communicate effectively and creatively Students will use technology to access, retrieve, evaluate and interpret visual and auditory information. Students will use technology to enhance their understanding and development of basic skills.
Students will communicate through applications software for classroom assignments on a routine basis Students will access and retrieve electronic information. Use technology to develop learning skills and basic skills.
Use graphic programs. Use search strategies to retrieve electronic information. Use software for computer assisted instruction.
Produce a document using word processing incorporating both text and graphics and following the writing process steps. Use electronic encyclopedias, almanacs, indexes and catalogs to retrieve, and select pertinent information. Use software to gain new concepts.
Create databases and spreadsheets and integrate them into reports. Use a variety of calculators. Develop strategies for problem solving, critical and creative thinking.
Collect, manipulate and interpret data. Use CDROM, DVD, or CDRW technologies. Students will develop basic technology skills.
Use publishing software and scanners to produce page layouts. Use cable and modem delivered services to access information from TV, satellite and other electronic databases. Select and use technology appropriate to needs.
Use electronic spell checkers, thesauruses and grammar checkers. Use local area networks and wide area networks. Develop keyboarding skills at 20-25 wpm with correct body posture and fingering position on all keys using touch typing at least 80% of the time.
Students will communicate visually, graphically, and artistically through multi-media and computer assisted design tools. Students will use information to support learning in all content areas. Operate peripheral devices.
Use audio equipment.   Care for technology hardware and uses it safely.
Create multi-media presentations.   Understand copyright laws and other ethical issues pertaining to use of technology in society.
Use copier to reproduce original work for communications to others.   Understand basic capabilities and limitations of technology's hardware and software.
     
GRADES 9-12 TECHNOLOGY GOALS    
COMMUNICATIONS INFORMATION PROCESSING PRODUCTIVITY
Students will use technology to communicate effectively and creatively. Students will use technology to access, retrieve, interpret and evaluate visual and auditory information. Students will use technology to maximize productivity and effectiveness.
Students will communicate through application software. Students will access and retrieve electronic information. Students will use technology to enhance their understanding of basic skills.
Create a document at the keyboard using word processing skills and the writing process steps. Use search strategies to locate electronic information. Use technology to develop learning and workplace skills.
Communicate with spreadsheets: entering data and setting up formulas, analyze costs with percentages and create graphs or charts to visually represent data. Use electronic encyclopedias, almanacs, indexes and catalogs. Use technology to develop process skills in all content areas.
Communicate with databases and spreadsheets by creating reports using data. Use networks for information (on-line databases, libraries, electronic bulletin boards). Develop strategies for problem solving, critical and creative thinking.
Students will communicate visually, graphically, and artistically through multi-media and computer assisted design tools. Use hand-held electronic devices, including: calculators and graphic calculators. Use application programs to create high quality products.
Create effective multi-media presentations which link various media. Use cable and satellite-delivered services. Develop creativity and innovation through the use of technology.
Students will communicate through computer networks and telecommunications. Students will use information to support learning in all content areas. Students will develop basic technology skills.
    Select and access technology appropriate to needs.
    Use correct starting and exiting procedures.
    Develop keyboarding skills to 25-30 wpm using correct body posture and finger placement100% of the time.
    Operate peripheral devices.
    Use technology independently and cooperatively.
    Use technology to prepare for careers and post secondary education.
