COMMUNICATIONS INFORMATION PROCESSING PRODUCTIVITY
Students will communicate effectively and creatively. Students will use technology to access, retrieve, evaluate and interpret visual/auditory information Students will use technology and its applications to maximize productivity and effectiveness.
1. Students will communicate through application software. 1. Students will access and retrieve electronic information. 1. Students will use technology to enhance their productivity.
Create documents using word processing skills and simple publishing programs. Use search strategies such as key words. Use technology to develop learning and process skills.
Create graphics. Use electronic encyclopedias and catalogs. Use software for drill and practice and to gain new concepts.
Create tables, graphs and charts. Use network information systems. Develop strategies for problem solving, critical and creative thinking.
2. Students will communicate visually, graphically, and artistically through multimedia presentations. 2. Students will use information resources to support learning in all content areas. 2. Students will develop basic technology skills.
Produce a videotape using a camcorder. Select and use appropriate technology.

GRADES 3-5 TECHNOLOGY GOALS
COMMUNICATIONS INFORMATION PROCESSING PRODUCTIVITY
Students will use technology to communicate effectively and creatively Students will use technology to access, retrieve, evaluate and interpret visual/auditory information Students will use technology and its applications to maximize productivity and effectiveness.
1. Students will communicate through application software. 1. Students will access and retrieve electronic information from a variety of sources, including: electronic encyclopedias, almanacs, indexes and catalogs. If appropriate, use software for computer assisted instruction.
Create written documents using word processing skills, writing process steps, and publishing programs. Utilize electronic devices, including: calculators, remote controls, and digital video players. Develop strategies for problem solving and critical thinking.
Utilze electronic spell checker/thesaurus, and computer graphic programs. Use cable and modem delivered services. 2. Students will develop basic technology skills.
Create databases and spreadsheets to manage information and create reports. Use LAN's to search databases and retrieve information. Select and use technology appropriate to needs.
Produce layouts using publishing software and scanners. 2. Students will use information to support learning in all content areas. Develop keyboarding skills at 15 to 20 wpm with hands on home row keys at least 80% of the time.
Integrate databases, graphics and spreadsheets into word processed documents. Operate peripheral devices.
2. Students will communicate visually, graphically, and artistically through multi-media. Use an expanded technology vocabulary.
Produce a videotape using a camcorder and video-editing equipment. Care for technology equipment and use it safely.
Produce and edit audio presentations. Follow copyright laws.
3. Students will communicate through networks and telecommunication.

GRADES 6-8 TECHNOLOGY GOALS
COMMUNICATIONS INFORMATION PROCESSING PRODUCTIVITY
Students will use technology to communicate effectively and creatively Students will use technology to access, retrieve, evaluate and interpret visual and auditory information. 1. Students will use technology to enhance their understanding and development of basic skills.
1. Students will communicate through applications software. 1. Students will access and retrieve electronic information. Use technology to develop learning skills and basic skills.
Use graphic programs. Use search strategies to retrieve electronic information. If appropriate, use software for computer assisted instruction.
Produce a document using word processing incorporating both text and graphics and following the writing process steps. Use electronic encyclopedias, almanacs, indexes and catalogs to retrieve, and select pertinent information. Use software to gain new concepts.
Create databases and spreadsheets and integrate them into reports. Use a variety of calculators including graphic types. Develop strategies for problem solving, critical and creative thinking.
Collect, manipulate and interpret data. Use laser discs and remote control devices. 2. Students will develop basic technology skills.
Use publishing software and scanners to produce page layouts. Use cable and modem delivered services to access information from TV, satellite and other electronic databases. Select and use technology appropriate to needs.
Use electronic spell checkers, thesauruses and grammar checkers. Use local area networks and wide area networks. Develop keyboarding skills at 20-25 wpm with correct body posture and fingering position on all keys using touch typing at least 80% of the time.
